Child Care Training Collaborative
"Creating Training Options and Opportunities"
In May 1997, an ad hoc committee of child care advocates met to research training opportunities
available in the community. The ad hoc committee became the Child Care Training Collaborative
(CCTC). Through the County of San Diego Child Care & Development Planning Council,
we are directed to promote and encourage training and collaboration to the San Diego Community.
Funding is from grants, donations, and support from the Child Care & Development Planning
Council, the YMCA Childcare Resource Service and other agencies and organizations. CCTC
has collaborated with the YMCA Childcare Resource Service in the creation of the C.A.T.S
training calendar, C.A.T.S training line, the Trainer Network, and the facility resource
directory.
MISSION
The Child Care Training Collaborative supports quality child care and education by creating
training options and opportunities for San Diego County.
GOALS
1. Promote Quality Services. Increase opportunities for training and education for the
child care community by collaborating with existing and new resources.
Objectives
- Update training Survey annually and compile information twice a year with a final
analysis at the end of the fiscal year.
- Increase the quality of trainers through enhancing the skills of trainers by promoting
more TOT trainings.
- Increase active CCTC membership.
- Promote program quality.
- Promote the inclusion of licensed and exempt providers.
- Promote mentor training.
- Promote workshops conducted in other languages.
2. Accessibility. Increase options for all child care providers to be aware of training
county wide.
Objectives:
- Maintain and update web pages at ymcacrs.org Web site.
- Keep abreast of public policy and legislation that directly impacts education and
child care training.
- Support and promote the Childcare Activity and Training Service (C.A.T.S.) community
training calendar and C.A.T.S. Training Line.
- Promote and recruit trainers
for the Trainers Network.
- Increase and update the Facility Resource Directory.
